Any.DO Provides New Organizational App, ‘Cal’ Launches in Beta

To-do list app Any.DO is branching out to help its users become even more organized.

The three-year-old California company this summer will launch a calendar app for iPhone that offers effortless integration with its Any.DO app.

Launched in beta today, ‘Cal’ can be used as a traditional calendar, but also allows users to add their to-do lists so they can be viewed in calendar form.

“A sophisticated integration with the Any.DO app automatically takes care of your ever-evolving to-do list without having to plan for the same thing twice,” the company said in a press release. “It interprets your day so you don’t have to — just the way smart apps should be.”

Cal allows its users to import current calendars and contact lists as well as Facebook information. The app also enables users to send themselves reminders with pre-programmed alerts.

Users are also able to plan events through the app, the company said.

“With Cal, important life moments like birthdays and anniversaries aren’t just remembered, they’re celebrated. Contact, location, and social integration allows you to send messages and plan festivities right in the app itself. It’s a powerful calendar that gets things done, because there’s a big difference between scheduling an important event and actually making it happen.”

According to Macworld, which had the chance to check out the beta version of Cal, users can register via Facebook or with an e-mail address.

The default setting of Cal show’s the user that day’s appointments. A banner showing the week runs across the top of the screen. Users can scroll forward or backward week-by-week or can swipe downward to view the entire month.

Cal, apparently, is the first of a number of new apps Any.DO is planning to release in the coming months.
